CBS Sunday Morning

I have absolutely fallen in love with this show. Sunday Mornings 9am - 10:30am
It's like NPR television...

from wikipedia:
"The program follows a format similar to a Sunday newspaper, but presented in a television show. Notably, Sunday Morning includes significant coverage of the fine and performing arts, including coverage of topics usually not covered in network news, such as architecture, painting, ballet, opera, and classical music, though increasingly more popular forms of music have been included as well. The program correspondents tend to ask nontraditional questions of guests; for instance, actor Brad Pitt was asked about his love of architecture, and Grant Hill about his painting collection. Television essays similar to the kinds delivered on PBS also appear, and the program generally has a stable of equally positive and negative news stories to fill up the program when there is no breaking news of note. Story lengths are longer and the pace of the program is considerably quieter and more relaxed than the weekday Early Show. Commentators Ben Stein and Nancy Giles appear in recurring segments, delivering their opinion, and correspondent Bill Geist also contributes human interest stories. [1][2] The program ends with a nature scene, not given a formal title for most of the program's history but since entitled "Moment of Nature" as it's now a sponsored element. Despite the stereotype of the program appealing primarily to senior citizens[3], the show actually placed first among its time slot in the key 25–54 demographic, beating all of the other Sunday morning talk shows."

My Morning Jacket

A great 6 minute primer on a great band.
I have such a hard time defining these guys. Not that they have to be defined, but really... how would you describe their sound to someone who hasn't heard it?
My best answer would be atmospheric.

The Killing

Holy crap this show is awesome...

There are the obvious Twin Peaks comparisons (and really what's wrong with that?), but where it lacks in the trippy-David Lynchianisms, it makes up for in it's story and character development.

There have been 12 episodes so far, with the season finale coming Sunday night on AMC. And they are (for a limited time) available for streaming HERE!

Seriously, this show has me co' rivited!
When you watch it online, it only has a couple of commercials and each episode is like 45 minutes- we ended up plowing through the whole series last night and tonight.

Watch this shit.

In one sense, it's hard to image watching 5 minutes of this.
In another, it's hard to imagine being able to look away from it!

Odd Future

OFWGKTA, or Odd Future Wolf Gang Kill Them All, is an eleven piece rap collective from LA. They're all like 16- 20 years old.
I first stumbled upon the current storyline of Earl Sweatshirt, who has gone 'missing,' and his video for 'EARL.'

...c'mon, tell me Earl Sweatshirt is not the ILLEST name in hip-hop...

The kid is super talented, but what a disturbing video- ... But after learning more about them it totally makes me think of my metal teenage years and what we could've done with a fish eye and some blood packets...

Then I found this one from Tyler the Creator, and I became a believer. This kid is the brains behind the group and he is sick. And this video is what they look like on a more professional level...

It's Still All About 18 - Kevin Garnett

So the Celtics are done for the year, and that thoroughly bums me out.
In an effort to alleviate the heartache of losing to LeBron, I've been watching a bunch of YouTube videos. It makes me feel better.

KG is easily my favorite player.
The dude is an animal...

UPDATE...
I can't believe I didn't come across this when I first posted this! If you only watch one of these KG videos, this is the one:

The Black Giraffe comes through big again with this one!

"I Lost My Train of Thought"

"A conversation with the brilliant Michael Backes, a Hollywood special effects consultant (films like Jurassic Park and Spider-Man 2) who also happens to be one of the world’s foremost experts on the subject of medical cannabis. Fun fact: Several characters in Michael Crichton’s novels are named Michael Backes after him."

I love this guy.
When I first came upon this, I thought it was going to be cheesy. But this dude is a trip! He's so passionate about music. He kinda reminds me of myself.
He's got 40-something episodes out now, but this is the first one I stumbled upon.
I have found SOOOO much good music googling this shit.
