2008 pt. 1

Some of my favorite finds of 2008 (sponsored by Lake....um....Webster....)

After hearing that my man Flow Circus was reading this, I had to throw up some more albums.
In no particular order...

My favorite song of the year right here. Damian and Stephen Marley - The Mission

Sharon Jones & the Dap Kings - 100 Days 100 Nights
Actually came out in 2007, but who cares - so funky, so soulful, so amazing. Check it out here.

Menahan Street Band - Make the Road by Walking
Check it out here. Where the ridiculous beat from Jay-Z - Roc Boys came from. Features some of the members of the Dap-Kings.

...more to come...

You mean Lake "You fish on your side, I'll fish on my side and no-one fishes in the middle"? My grandmother can totally pronounce that long ass word.

Amy & I spent all day yesterday trying to pronounce it, and after listening to the guy in the video a bunch of times (the youtube clip when you click on the picture of the sign on my page) I think I've got it down. But of course the guy in the video is asian and has an accent that may or may not change the correct pronunciation of the word

Thanks for the music to check. Been diggin on "Murs for President", "Lil Wayne - The Carter III", and "Young Jeezy - The Recession". And also some Katy Perry. You're so gay and you don't even like boys!

I used to go to Webster and swim in that lake...there is a county music stage and party place there. That is where I got me roots from.

Soulful and groovy. Awesome mix of mellow mellifluous...ness. Thanks for the recommendations!
